Help to stop the big coal give away

Congress could vote in the next fews weeks on a bill that would double our greenhouse gas emissions from planes and cars. It sounds crazy, but this is exactly what will happen if a current plan to use "liquid coal" passes. Coal is the dirtiest of fossil fuels and we have a serious global warming problem.

I signed a petition urging Congress to vote no on tax breaks and subsidies on coal. Can you join me at the link below?

The best plans for liquid coal advocate the use of nuclear power at the refinery. That would negate the CO2 problem. The land can be successfully redeveloped into lakes, parks, farms, etc. I have seen the photos. We only have around 30 years left on conventional oil and there will be 9 billion mouts to feed. If we want human life to continue, we need to be open to ALL options.

Thank you, "Anonymous," for your opinion. You say you have seen the photos. How about sharing? Got any linkage for us? As someone who spent a significant amount of time in appalachia, I have a hard time believing that the fossil fuel that caused so many deaths from black lung disease is an acceptable option for our energy needs. By the way, I'm pretty sure human life would continue without a new energy source. Life as we know it wouldn't continue, but humans survived for millenia before the invention of the internal combustion engine, and the species could again if it had to.
