Kevin Gough, Glynn County Republican chair has asked Glynn Peace to call off a small protest outside Jack Kinston's Brunswick Office, according to this article in The Brunswick News. Said protest is to be held from noon to 1:30 PM tomorrow outside the federal building on Gloucester Street. The local GOP is threatening a counter-demonstration, calling the plans of GlynnPeace "un-American." Thanks for the free publicity, guys!
Update: Andre over at Georgia Politics Unfiltered picked this up, too: Protesting is un American Now?

Yeah, but I'd bet the counter-protest brings out 100 people.
I really think protesting is dead in America. The movie PCU really put the nail in that coffin. These days, anytime there is a protest of any kind, there always seems to be a louder and more vocal counter-demonstration. Protests these days just seem to help the other side far more than persuade the actual targets of the protest to change thier actions.
My $0.02.
Yeah, PCU was such a huge mainstream success that it "put the nail in the coffin" of the protest movement. Sorry, but I doubt either Randall (GlynnPeace) or Gough (Glynn GOP) has even heard of PCU. There is an old adage, and I think it still holds true: "There is no such thing as bad publicity"
